IQNA – Despite the relentless Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip that have killed many civilians and displaced hundreds of thousands, teaching the Holy Quran continues in the besieged enclave.

A Quranic tent in Gaza

In the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip near the border with Egypt, families set up tents in which children learn the Quran as well as Islamic teachings and ethics.

One of these Quranic tents is in the courtyard of a school in al-Janina neighborhood, where many displaced people from north of Gaza are living.

Sheikh Mahmoud, one of those teaching at the Quranic tent, said the move is aimed at boosting children’s morale and encouraging them to learn the Quran.

These children have been forced out of their homes in north of Gaza as a result of the Zionist regime’s attacks, he noted.
